IGN.com posted a new preview of the upcoming MK game for the Nintendo DS, Ultimate Mortal Kombat.

From the article:

'And it's a pretty spot-on conversion of the arcade game. Other Ocean Interactive, the development team that worked on the Xbox Live Arcade rendition, has emulated the arcade version of Mortal Kombat 3 extremely well.'

'The second screen now displays a move list cheat sheet so you can keep track of all the special attacks, fatalities, babalities, and friendships in the game.'

UMK Preview @ Ign.com
14 Aug 2007 by Abismo

Ign.com offers a preview of Ultimate Mortal Kombat, the next MK game to be released on Nintendo DS. From the article:

'If you started Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, you'd be booted to an emulated version of the arcade running on the lower screen of the Nintendo DS. Small visual sacrifices have to be made mainly due to the Nintendo DS system's lesser resolution, so the graphics have a bit of "shimmering" going on as the development team resizes the higher resolution arcade on the lower resolution LCD screen. But beyond that, the game looks, plays, and sounds spot-on to the arcade original, and works extremely well using the standard D-pad and button configuration.'

'Puzzle Kombat is the second mode in the game, and it, too, is pretty spot-on as a conversion. Unlike Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Puzzle Kombat is a port and not an emulation - the developers converted the console game over to take advantage of the dual-screen setup on the Nintendo DS.'

'Puzzle Kombat also supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service as well as multi and single cartridge multiplayer, and the local versus play is just as smooth and seamless as the fighting game is. Again, we didn't get a chance to play the game online, but we're hoping that such a small game with little overhead will play without a hitch over the internet.'

There's a new trailer, too:
